As a rule, classes meet once a week for one two-hour session. In the official terminology of the University one such two-hour session is called "2 semester-week hours" (2 "Semesterwochenstunden").

The Academic Year in Ludwigsburg is divided into two halves: a winter semester and a summer semester. Their official durations are 1st October - 31st March and 1st April - 30th September respectively. The periods during which actual teaching takes place are a little shorter, i.e. approx. 15th October - 15th February (Winter Semester) and approx. 15th April - 21st July (Summer Semester).

As programmes at the University change from semester to semester, an overview of new courses is only published at the end of each current semester. In order to put together your timetable, please look at the up-to-date prospectus here on the Internet.
