E-books

University Library licenced e-books can be found in the  catalogue and in the  e-books catalogue.

Access from outside the campus

As a member of Reutlingen University you can access and download e-books from outside the campus network via VPN (Virtual Private Network).
Open the URL  https://vpn.reutlingen-university.de.

This is the VPN login page, where you log into the University network using your computer centre login (the same one you use for your e-mails).

When you have successfully completed the login please click on the button "Hochschulbibliothek" and then the button "Library Catalogue".

You are now searching our catalogue as if are using a computer from within the campus network (and therefore you have access rights for e-books).

For example, search under "Advanced Search" (Kombinierte Suche) for
Autor (author): Papula
Medien (media type): Online-Resource

Your result list will contain all e-books by Papula.

Click on the title you were looking for. The page for this entry includes a link to the full-text e-book. When you click on it you are redirected to the text on the Springer Verlag server (SpringerLink). 

You can download the chapters individually (as PDF). Single-click on the PDF icon with the right mouse button selecting "Ziel speichern unter" ("save target as"). You can decide where on your computer you would like to save the PDF file. Rename the file with the name of the chapter because on the Springer server all files are called "fulltext.pdf".
