I received my BA in English, Communication Studies and International Studies from Texas Lutheran University in 2005 and then taught high school English in Kosice, Slovakia, for one year. In 2006, I moved to Tübingen, Germany, as a Rotary International Academic Ambassadorial Scholar. I also taught business English at Stuttgart's Wall Street Institute. Afterward, I started my MA at New York University and transferred to the University of Oregon’s Comparative Literature PhD program. From 2011-2012, I taught 1st-year German and completed PhD coursework in 20th century German literature and ethical criticism.
