Special information

for students from non-EU countries

If you have been given a study place at Ludwigsburg University of Education, you will need a visa to enter Germany. The visa must be applied for at a German Consulate or the Germany Embassy in your home country. For this you need confirmation of acceptance in Ludwigsburg by the International office. Please apply for your visa early enough.

And remember: a visa will only be issued to you outside Germany. This last point does not apply to American citizens, who may obtain a visa after entering the country, and to citizens from Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand and Switzerland, who may obtain a visa after entering the country (cost: about €50).

for LEA students

Students from Grenoble and Besançon are usually on an LEA course leading to licence or maîtrise. As this is a joint programme run by Ludwigsburg and its partner universities, leading to a formal qualification, LEA students of these institutions attend special courses. On arrival in Ludwigsburg LEA students are informed about course structure and final examinations by the ECTS co-ordinator. LEA students from St. Etienne study according to ECTS, unless they have been given instructions to the contrary by their home university.

for students staying longer than one semester

Students staying longer than one semester must re-register at the end of each semester at the Students' Office. You will be informed of re-registration dates when you immatriculate.
