The Ludwigsburg Interdisciplinary Center for Research and Transfer (LIFT) is a newly established institution at the Ludwigsburg University of Education, founded in 2024. LIFT aims to foster interdisciplinary exchange, strengthen methodological training and consultation, and promote a vibrant culture of publication and science communication.
During its founding phase, LIFT has identified three key objectives:
Promoting interdisciplinary exchange
Advancing methodological consultation and training
Strengthening the culture of publication and science communication
These goals are pursued through various formats, including individual consultations, workshops, and innovative event formats. LIFT places particular emphasis on involving both students and researchers equally in its activities.
LIFT thrives on the engagement of its community – we warmly encourage you to contribute your own ideas and get involved!

Under the umbrella of LIFT, method training and consultation are available to all members of the Ludwigsburg University of Education. For students, the Forschungswerkstatt Bildungswissenschaften (ForBi – Research Workshop for Educational Sciences) offers both individual consultations and workshops.
Doctoral candidates and postdocs can request one-on-one consultations with Prof. Oliver Berli (Qualitative Methods) or Prof. Ulf Kieschke (Quantitative Methods). Additionally, an open research workshop on Qualitative Social Research takes place every two weeks. If you are interested, please contact Prof. Oliver Berli.
Finally, the LIFT team regularly organizes workshops on methodological topics.
