Prof. Dr. Gerd Schweizer

Prof. Dr. Gerd Schweizer is a professor emeritus of Economics, Business Administration and Teaching Methodology at Ludwigsburg University of Education. He received his Diplom and Staatsexamen in Economics and Business Didactics from the University of Nuremberg and his doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Frankfurt. He is the former Director of the Institute of Educational Management and Leadership and former Head of the Department of Economics. Furthermore, he was the Chairman of the German Society for Educational Management (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Bildungsmanagement) and has hosted several conferences about management in the education sector. From 2002 to 2004 he was Dean of Faculty in Educational and Social Sciences at the Ludwigsburg University of Education. Gerd Schweizer was also one of the founders and drivers implementing the Institute for Educational Leadership in Ludwigsburg. He is the German Director of the MA Program “International Education Management”. His teaching and research interests focus on Educational Leadership, Strategic Management, Cost Theory, Cost Management in the education sector and different aspects of the Euro crisis.
