Prof. Areeg Ibrahim

Prof. Areeg Ibrahim is Professor and Chair of the Department of English at Helwan University, Egypt. In 2010 she was a fellow at Harvard University and in 2006 she was a Fulbrighter and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Civilizations, Yale University. Before that, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Martin Segal Theatre, at the Graduate Center, CUNY, NY. She received her PhD from the University of Connecticut in Comparative Literary and Cultural Studies. She also got both her MA and BA from the American University in Cairo. Areeg Ibrahim is the co-editor of a Routledge book on theatre and translation. She published several articles in many reputable journals and she has translated into Arabic 4 books of a Palgrave/Macmillan series on theatre: (Theatre &  ) and she is on the editorial board of the Arab Stages Journal. Moreover, she is a published creative writer of Arabic fiction.
