Prof. Dr. Yasser Sakr

Prof. Dr. Yasser Sakr has been the President of Helwan University since June 2012, he was the Vice President from 2010-2012. He also held the position of the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research and the Chairman of the Department of Architecture at the College of Fine Arts. Furthermore, he is a professor of Architecture at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. He graduated from the Department of Architecture, College of Fine Arts, Helwan University in 1982. He received his M.Arch. (1986) and D.Arch. (1991) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. He held teaching positions in the area of Architecture, Urban Design and Computer-Aided Design in various Universities in Egypt and abroad. Prof. Sakr has publications in national and international journals and conferences. He has been on the national board for reviewing new architectural programs in Egypt since 2007, in addition to being an external reviewer for various architectural programs. He also acted as an accreditation consultant and member of many preparation teams for various colleges in Egypt and abroad. In addition, he has been a consultant in the areas of Architectural Design, Urban Design and Urban Planning. He has been honored by various local and International entities such as the Harvard JFK School of Government, the Egyptian Society for Architects, and the United Arab Emirates University.
